Capitol Relations is a privately owned, Michigan-based governmental relations firm with expertise in public relations and media outreach. Capitol Relation’s founder, Mike Garavaglia, has an exceptional reputation and a history of successful results. He built this business with strong alliances within state government and the business community. He has the ability and experience to offer comprehensive strategies that are carefully composed and can be effectively implemented for each client.

Michael J. Garavaglia, Founder

Michael J. Garavaglia, the founder of Capitol Relations, LLC, has extensive knowledge and years of experience in both public relations and governmental affairs. Mike received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and master’s degree in Economics from the University of Detroit. His past experience ranges from financial analyst for General Motors to Assistant Controller for Turner Construction Company. An entrepreneur by nature, Mike left the corporate world to run his own real estate building and development company for over 16 years. In 2006, he joined Attorney General Mike Cox’s staff as the Director of Legislative Affairs and in 2007 became the Chief Administrative Officer, where he served until the end of Cox’s administration.

Shannon Price

 

Shannon Price balances his commitment and dedication to his family with his desire to serve in government relations.  With a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a lifelong passion for government and party politics, Shannon has a proven record in managing projects and developing and managing communication plans.  He performed Constituent Relations for both Attorney General Mike Cox and Attorney General Bill Schuette.  Shannon has also served as an elected official serving as a Wayne County Commissioner from 2013-2015 and Plymouth Township Supervisor from 2015-2016. In both of these roles, Shannon was responsible for developing and managing multi-million dollar budgets, overseeing economic development, planning, and managing initiatives and collaborating with neighboring communities. With a vast network of government and private leaders, Shannon has considerable experience in fundraising and event organization.
